40+ Freaky Designs for Horror Movie Posters
4Starting the design idea, brainstorming begins with understanding the product or the service that you would like to use the design for. For example, if you are designing a package for the product, your design should suit the product type and user. This rule applies to poster design as part of the graphics task that can face designers. Posters convey information to the viewer through one still image, most information required for a product or a movie; if it is a cinema poster or movie wallpaper.

Movie posters and wallpapers reflect the story and the experience that the viewer will get from watching such as action, romance and suspense. Horror movies are one of the categories that require creative poster designs to deliver the idea to the viewer. Since horror movies include a lot of cinematic tricks and special effects, their posters include large amounts of design experience and inspirations such as photo manipulation and the use of shadow and darkness to create a horror experience.
In the following collection, I would like to share some of the amazing designs for horror movie posters that represent movies from different years. As we have seen above, horror movie posters use grunge fonts, photo manipulation and dark light to create a freaky environment that covers this type of movies. Also, each poster includes elements from its movie to give the viewer experience of the characters and the elements that he or she will see in the movie.
In addition to what I have said above, each poster has its creative direction that makes it different from other posters such as using elements from the movie to tell the version of the movie similar to Saw. Other posters focus on the main character in the movie such as Orphan. Finally, I hope you enjoyed this inspirational experience and find it useful to learn more about the successful poster design process.
really scared ,,,, but nice collection ….
Scared and freaked out. The best posters are those which do not give away the story.
really freaky designs, big fan of horror artwork and this post is a really good varied collection.
Wow. There’s not ONE hand painted poster in there, every poster that’s posted is a TRUE disgrace to the horror genre. Boring typical generic photoshop shit. Yuck! Even the logos suuuuuuuuck! This is not art, it’s some hack designer designing something on the computer. I hope anybody that likes these dies in front of me, so I can laugh at them in their final painful moments.
