How to Create 3D Earth in Photoshop

The 3D earth is one of the commonly used elements in both digital and printed designs. The comprehensive 3D features in Adobe Photoshop allows you to create this 3D earth and many other elements easily without the need to learn complex 3D applications.
In this tutorial, I will explore with you how to create a 3D earth in Adobe Photoshop CC. First, we will create a space document and add to it a background. In this tutorial, I used a free to use space background.
Then, We will use the existing meshes in Adobe Photoshop to create simple sphere shape. This shape will be the 3D based for the earth. At this point, we will use the Defuse value from the 3D Properties panel to add a 3D map to the sphere. Then, we will give it some depth by using the same map as a bump material.
After creating the 3D earth, we will add a back light using the Outer Glow layer style to appear more natural in the space. You can save your document as PSD format to be able to modify the 3D model later.
